when does a weanling become a breeder (age), for example in a show/sale.

We don’t necessarily have a required age designation for classifying entries as weanlings. We recommend that weanling animals weigh between 40-70 pounds. Typically, weanling entries at the NSR Fall Classic will be farrowed in August or September, making them approximately 2.5-3.5 months of age.

Most of the animals that are exhibited in our breeding hog events are 5-7 months old. We don’t have a minimum age requirement on animals that are shown in the breeding animal shows. However, each show will have a posted farrowing date that animals must be born on or after to be eligible to participate in that event.
