Arizona National Information

Arizona National Livestock Show DNA kits and Premium Books for the Pedigree and Crossbred Barrows are available. Go to www.anls.org to order kits online.

All junior swine entries (Barrows and Breeding Gilts) are due Oct. 31. Barrows require DNA submission. Ownership deadline is Oct. 31 for Barrows and Breeding Gilts. The show judge is Jason Hirschfeld, Nebraska. This is a national affiliate show of the NJSA and Team Purebred. Show dates are Dec. 26-31 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Grand Canyon Classic Gilt Sale is set for Dec. 29. Call 602-258-8568 or email info@anls.org for questions.

NJSA Online Contests

NJSA Bi-Monthly Online Contests!

Looking for a way to sharpen your skills, while winning cool prizes? Then, the NJSA Online Contests are for you. These bi-monthly, educational contests are designed to give members a place to tune-up their skills before national shows and contests. Each contest will be broken into four divisions – Novice, Junior, Intermediate and Senior.  Members of the NSR Staff will judge each application, and one lucky winner will get a gift bag from the NJSA Store, like the one pictured!

Volunteers and Silent Auction Items Needed for Eastern Regional

Volunteers Needed!
WANTED: VOLUNTEERS FOR THE 2014 NJSA EASTERN REGIONAL!

Volunteers help our show run smoothly! Come help be a part of the success at the 2014 NJSA Eastern Regional held in  Hamburg, New York, Oct. 9-11.

Volunteers are wanted for the following:

NJSA Booth  (2 hour shifts, needed for Friday and Saturday)
Skill-a-thon (to help at each station)

Brian Arnold Named 40 Under 40 Honoree

National Barrow Show Swine Judging Contest Results

SWINE JUDGING CONTEST

 

Winners in the 68th annual NATIONAL BARROW SHOW® Swine Judging Contest held Sept. 8th in Austin, MN., were Texas Tech University of Lubbock, TX in the senior college division; Black Hawk College of Galva, IL in the junior college division; and Georgia FFA in the junior division. The winning team in each of the three levels of judging competition was awarded
according to points accumulated in the contest. This year’s contest attracted 74 teams and 410 participants from across the United States.

 

Senior College Division

Texas Tech University won first place in the senior college division with a score of 3309 points out of a possible 3500 points.
The Texas Tech University team competed against 14 other teams in the university division. Members of this team, coached by Ryan Rathmann, included Jacob McKillip, Kylan Carson, Taylor Frank, Austin Crissman, Ian Schaefer, Garrett Foote, and Austin Langemeier.
