Did you know the silent auction has long been an important aspect of all NJSA regional shows, providing financial support for members and a fun chance to purchase some great deals!
It is up to YOU to continue this tradition of support for NJSA! In 2011, the NJSA challenges EACH FAMILY to contribute ONE ITEM to the silent auction — be it your favorite barn item, a bit of bling or vintage swine memorabilia. Take part in creating a fabulous “shopping mall” at the NJSA Southeast Regional — and support the future of NJSA at the same time!
Be as wild, creative and fun as you can, but make sure your item is something someone else sees as useful too! Items donated in the past include jewelry, grill sets, cookie jars, farm décor, feed, gift certificates, photos, vintage farm regalia, university apparel, and more.
Contact Sarah Schwab at sarah@nationalswine.com and let her know the item you plan to donate and its estimated dollar amount. Bring the item to the NJSA Southeast Regional show office no later than Friday, Jan. 21, then get your bids in early and often!

Nalaney Guyer, at NJSS 2010.

Get a weekend mentor at the MVP event!
NJSA Southeast Regional attendees — are you interested in getting a mentor at this show? Then be sure and attend the MVP event on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 1:30-2:30. Mentoring Values People, MVP for short, is a mentoring program where older NJSA members (ages 14-21) serve as mentors to younger and first-time NJSA members. Meanwhile, the NJSA mentors have the awesome opportunity to be “coached” by some of the swine industry’s leaders in production, business and communications.
All NJSA members who are interested in having a mentor for the weekend and competing in an MVP activities can attend. All MVP mentors, please contact Sarah Schwab at sarah@nationalswine.com for more information and to be added to the mentor list for the show.
