St. Patrick’s Day Traditions

By ellen@nationalswine.com | Published February 26, 2015

Well as I am writing this we have just finished up our winter show season in Georgia and St. Patrick’s Day is drawing near. Honestly, I have never really celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. I remember being in grade school and if one of us didn’t wear green on St. Patrick’s Day, we would get pinched. I never got pinched because I always wore something green. Even though I do not plan on doing anything special this year, there are a fair amount of parades that will take place around the country to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Boston, New York City, Savannah, and Philadelphia are among many of the cities having parades. I know from others’ stories the Savannah, Georgia St. Patrick’s Day Parade is great. Supposedly River Street in Savannah is packed to the brim with people dressed in green and/or people dressed as leprechauns. Also, word is that the river is colored green with a special dye during the days surrounding St. Patrick’s Day. I do not think I will be able to make it to Savannah this year for St. Patrick’s Day but it is on my bucket list. However, if I was you, I would find some type of celebration and enjoy yourself. You never know, you may just find the gold at the end of the rainbow! Take care and God Bless!

P.S. If you find the gold…..we can split it!
