NJSA Junior Board Feature :: Hannah Frobose
What is your favorite aspect of being on the Junior Board?
For me, the opportunity to work closely and collaborate with some of the greatest young minds in the pork industry is one of the greatest privileges that comes with being on the NJSA Junior Board of Directors. I’ve made amazing, lifelong friendships during my time on the board and I am constantly impressed by how motivated and driven our group is about the swine industry. We have established tremendous goals for this association and because we are equally compelled to give back to our members, we have come so much closer to accomplishing our objectives.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I have two different shaped thumbs and webbed toes.
What is your favorite stock show memory?
I’ve made so many incredible memories in and out of the show ring, but my favorite has to be this past fall at the Southwest Regional. I was checking exhibitors in, during junior showmanship, and both of my NJSA proteges were in the final round. Both of them placed in the top end of their division and being at the exit gate and being able to give them each a hug and high five after their victories was unbelievably rewarding and definitely one of my favorite memories during my time on the board.
How do you hope to impact the agriculture industry?
My career goals stem from my goals for the swine industry as a whole. I hope to be able to improve pork quality to the degree that it becomes the number one animal protein consumed in the United States, like it is in many other countries. I believe that pork is so much more than “The Other White Meat,” and I plan to prove this by attaining a career in the pork industry that allows me to work with product enhancement and understand consumer eating expectations. My passion for the pork industry has and will continue to push me to reach my ultimate goals of improving pork quality.
