Meet the 2022 NSR Interns

By Cassie Godwin | Published May 17, 2022

Meet the 2022 NSR Interns

Brittney Barnett, Marketing & Communications Intern

Regan Fringer, Events & Education Intern

Jada Johnson, Field Staff Intern

Where are you from?

BB: Thatcher, Arizona but I also spent summers and a lot of time in Pie Town, New Mexico growing up!

RF: Madera, California

JJ: I am from a small town with a population of 1,100 people called Warren, Indiana.

What are you looking forward to the most about your internship?

BB: I’m most looking forward to getting more involved in the swine industry, making connections and being able to increase my marketing skills in an industry I’m passionate about!

RF: I am looking forward to furthering the relationships with the people I already know, as well as meeting new people from all over the country; especially the NJSA Junior Board and all the members! I am not only excited for these connections, but also looking forward to enhancing my skill set under the NSR staff.

JJ: If you ask my family, I have lived and breathed purebred hogs since I could walk and talk, so for me this internship is something I have always dreamed about. Gaining a lot of windshield time with the field staff will allow me to see fellow breeders’ operations and capture knowledge from people who I highly respect and that have spent their lifetime building their brand.

Where are you going to college and what is your major?

BB: I am going to college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona and majoring in visual communications with an emphasis in graphic design and a minor in photography.

RF: I previously attended Illinois Central College where I obtained my associate’s degree. I now attend Iowa State University majoring in ag business. Roll Clones!

JJ: I attend Western Illinois University, double majoring in agribusiness and animal science.

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

BB: I really like tacos.

RF: Anything cooked by Laurie Fringer herself. Mom’s cooking is always the best cooking.

JJ: Recently, after judging a show in Florida, my good friend Kyle Mendes allowed me to discover the best restaurant known to mankind, The Columbia. I could very easily eat the 1905 Salad, or the white chocolate bread pudding for the rest of my life. If you are ever near Tampa, I HIGHLY recommend the trip to The Columbia! 12/10 recommend.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

BB: In my spare time I enjoy hunting, hiking, spending time with friends and family, taking pictures and going to livestock shows.

RF: Whenever I get the chance I’m always Face Timing family and hanging out with friends.

JJ: I enjoy a good game of pickup basketball with college roommates or taking the “W” on links at the local golf course in Warren.
