By NSR | Published October 4, 2010
Eric Schafer, Ill., drives his gilt during competition at the
2010 Eastern Regional in Harrisburg, Pa.

Wet weather across the East Coast didn’t dampen spirits as NJSA members and their families headed to Harrisburg, Pa., with their gilts to compete at the NJSA Eastern Regional, held Oct. 1-2. More than 137 kids from 11 states entered 191 entries in the gilt-only show. Judge Dave Kilmer, Ind., was the official judge.

John Ebersole, Pa., drove his Champion Duroc Gilt to be named Champion Gilt Overall and won $1,000 and a one-year lease of an Exiss trailer. Natalie Hofschulte, Okla., took her Reserve Champion Duroc Gilt to Reserve Champion Gilt Overall, and for that won $500.
