Nathan Stoughton congratulations on a great purchase from Grimm Purebreds BCA online bred gilt sale.
The 2012 New Year’s celebration included the addition of two new staff members to the National Swine Registry – Brian Anderson and Jen Gillespie.
Anderson joined the NSR team of field representatives and will be covering the Southwest territory (see the map below). Brian will visit breeders across the Southwestern region of the U.S. and attend NSR shows and events to promote the purebred use of Doroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Yorkshire swine. Tune into ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition this evening at 8 EST/7 p.m. CST to try and catch a glimpse of Yorkshire breeder Jim Grimm and his boar, JGR Big Easy 12-5.
Grimm and “Big Easy” visit with some of the show’s crew. The Grimms used the opportunity to educate the public about swine production.
The Grimm family was on-site while the Extreme Makeover crew filmed this evening’s episode in northwest Iowa, and Big Easy was invited to give a cameo performance in the opening scene.
All together, more than 1,000 community volunteers, including the Grimms, helped the Gibbs family rebuild their home.

Jim Grimm’s proven herdsire is now a rising star. JGR9 Big Easy 12-5, made his television debut in a cameo performance on the popular show Extreme Home Makeover.
ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover builds community while building new homes for deserving families. While on location filming a show in northwest Iowa, the crew of Extreme Home Makeover invited the Grimm’s to take part in the show – by bringing some “pig power” on site. Before the show’s host, Ty Pennington, could shout his famous saying, “Move that bus,” Big Easy took part in the opening of the show.
