In 2007, I had the opportunity to attend my first National Youth Leadership Conference (NYLC) in Indianapolis, Indiana. This was the first of many leadership conferences I remember attending, and I had a blast! Last year was my first NYLC since I was a participant eight years ago, and I absolutely loved it. When pigs are taken out of the equation, participants have the chance to really get to know other NJSA members from around the country.
When I put together the schedule I try to include sessions and tours I think will be most beneficial to all participants, which is why I am EXTREMELY excited for the 2015 NYLC in Fort Collins, Colorado! Whether we are touring the JBS USA Headquarters and JBS Five Rivers Kuner Feedlot, having basketball and dodgeball tournaments at one of the top 20 Co-Rec’s in [ … ]

Chris Hodges has been named the new chief executive office for the National Pork Board. Hodges, currently the senior vice president – business development of Smithfield Farmland, will begin his new role on Feb. 16.

From product marketing to disease management to sustainability, I look forward to working with the National Pork Board staff and Board to develop the tangible tools and grassroots programs on behalf of America’s pig farmers.”
Hodges brings to the Pork Checkoff decades of in-depth knowledge and innovation in marketing pork to key U.S. food retailers and into international markets. Much of his fresh pork marketing experience includes direct producer outreach and involvement related to adopting on-farm practices specifically designed to improve [ … ]

29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord [ … ]
