I can remember my first National Youth Leadership Conference (NYLC) like it was yesterday. I was finally able to go to the one National Junior Swine Association (NJSA) event I was never able to make it to. I was also headed there for an interview to be on the NJSA Junior Board. Little did I know this weekend filled with fun tours, long karaoke nights and educational panels would forever change my life. I made some amazing friends and got to see that prestigious group of Junior Board members work hard to ensure we all had fun. I knew after that trip, NJSA was much more than showing pigs across the country. NJSA is about building leaders in our upcoming generations.
