NSR Field Staff Internship
The NSR Field Staff Internship provides on-the-road experience traveling the Midwest with full-time NSR Field Representatives, and opportunities to both learn from and contribute to field activities. Responsibilities include visiting purebred swine farms and A.I. boar studs; assisting at NSR-sponsored events including the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, Iowa; and the Summer Type Conference and National Junior Summer Spectacular in Louisville, Ky.; assisting at state fairs; and other field staff duties as assigned.
National Junior Swine Association InternshipThe NJSA Internship will provide experience in planning and executing shows and leadership events for the nation’s largest youth livestock organization. You will have the opportunity to assist NJSA staff with planning the World Pork Expo [ … ]
Registration is now open for the first-ever Swine Webinar Series sponsored by the University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, U of I Extension, the Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) and The Pork Checkoff.
This series is designed to provide a forum for relaying information on a broad array of topics relevant to swine producers and industry affiliates, said Rob Knox, U of I Extension swine specialist and professor in the U of I Department of Animal Sciences.
“The program features experts within specific topic areas involved in swine production,” Knox said. “From reproduction to facilities, the webinar series will highlight a wide range of topics that we believe will be useful to producers and industry leaders.”
The series will kick off on Monday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. CST with “Reproduction: Gilt induction of puberty,” presented by Knox. Other topics include: Semen collect ion for fertility, antibiotic policies, [ … ]

In response to requests from our enthusiastic members we are opening the age limit of the 2011 Boot Camp to include 8-21 year olds.
