The Landrace Hog College Boar was the top-selling Landrace boar at the 2013 National Barrow Show. This boar was owned by Cedar Ridge Show Herd, Red Bud, Ill. and sold to Scott & Sydney Rohls, Greensburg, Ind., for $1,000.
 
 

 
Bobby Batson of Wilmington, Ill. drove the top seller in the Landrace Gilt sale. This gilt was also the Hog College Landrace gilt. She sold to Behrends Farms of Clifton, Ill. for $1,500.

Jim Grimm, Maynard, Iowa brought the high-selling Yorkshire gilt. Joe Coyne, Pontiac, Ill. purchased this gilt for $2,800.

There was a full house for the second annual Hog College Home Run Drive. All Hog College boars and gilts were paraded together in one ring to vie for honors and showcase some of the most elite swine genetics.

A three-member panel chose the individuals they felt best represented its breed and the industry for the “Chairman’s Choice” award.

Collegiate judging team also chose a “College Choice.” The team closest to the panel’s placing will receive a $100 cash prize and subscriptions to Seedstock EDGE and Breeder’s Digest.

 
Jenna Wheeler & Four Wheeler Show Pigs of Jacksonville, Ill. were awarded the “Chairman’s Choice” and “College Choice” with their Chester White gilt.
 
 

 
Watson Yorkshires, Hillsboro, Ky., were awarded “Chairman’s Choice” with their Yorkshire boar.
 

The Spot boar shown by Hirschfeld Livestock of Benedict, Neb. was named the “College Choice” boar.
