Dates: June 6-11, 2016
Release Time: All WPX Junior National Hogs are released at 2 pm on Friday June 10, but exhibitors are encouraged to stay through Saturday June 11 for the World Pork Expo Breeding Hog Sale
Exhibitor Requirements: All exhibitors must be a member of either NJSA or Team Purebred. Exhibitors must be 21 years of age of younger as of January 1, 2016. No parents, friends, or family members are allowed in the make-up ring or show ring with an exhibitor. All exhibitors must be able to be in the make-up ring and show ring by themselves or are not [ … ]
This year, Walton Webcasting and the National Swine Registry (NSR) are teaming up to bring you live show coverage if you are unable to attend World Pork Expo (WPX).
Visit the webcast here.
Not only will you be able to watch live from your laptop, desktop or smartphone, but also a few hours after the show, you will be able to go back and replay the show.
There will be links posted on the NSR and Walton Webcasting websites as WPX gets closer to access show coverage directly.

Can you believe it? World Pork Expo (WPX) is less than a week away! Most of you are probably in the “crunch-time” mode to get the final touches complete before you take your adventure to Des Moines, Iowa, in the Hawkeye state. As you finish packing your show clothes and trailers, we combined a list of some of the top places to visit while in Des Moines after the shows or in your downtime during the day. These range from museums, amusement parks, shopping and more. Safe travels to WPX, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone there!

The 2013 World Pork Expo (WPX) is officially under way in Des Moines, Iowa. A record-breaking 2,527 entries poured into the Iowa State Fairgrounds for the 25th anniversary of the WPX. The National Swine Registry staff is eager to start the week off with the World Pork Expo Junior National show, tomorrow.
Below are some candids from around the barn as exhibitors prepare for the upcoming week by unloading and registering their entries.
Registration began at 1 p.m.

It’s that time of year to start gearing up for the 2013 World Pork Expo (WPX) held June 5-7 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa. WPX is an industry innovating event that attracts around 20,000 pork producers and allied industry professionals.
This year marks the 25th anniversary for the show. WPX has been a place to discover advancements in technology, swine health, environment, and producer effectiveness from specialists and companies in the industry. It also allows swine exhibitors to compete in different events such as, showmanship, judging contests, and of course showing and selling their pigs.

This year, exhibitors, sponsors and spectators can stay up-to-date with the 2013 World Pork Expo application featured on many smartphones. In his book Outliers: The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell set out to discover what makes people successful. He concluded that a key factor in being successful is opportunity – those who are given extraordinary opportunities and have the presence of mind to seize on them outperform those around them.
I can say, the past two summers I have been blessed with two extraordinary opportunities. Last summer, the PR team at the Wisconsin Farm Bureau took a chance on me as a college freshman. It’s that experience that gave me the confidence and experience to apply for this position, and I owe a debt of gratitude to Jen, Katie and everyone who was involved in selecting me the 2012 NSR Marketing & Communications intern.

Greetings from Des Moines! The 2012 edition of the World Pork Expo is officially under way. With a record number of entries in the World Pork Expo Junior National, a great lineup of judges and, of course, great hogs, we’re very excited to get the shows started tomorrow.
